Acai

Deep in the South American rainforest, there is a palm tree that produces small purple berries. These berries are called Acai (pronounced ah-sigh-ee) and they look like dark purple cranberries. Although they have large pits and very little pulp, these Acai berries have been called nature’s most nutritious fruit.

The Brazilian natives believe that the Acai berries have amazing nutritional properties. They are very rich in Anthocyanin pigments, providing very powerful antioxidant. Their nutritional profile has come to the attention of Oprah Winfrey, who features Acai as an important food. Acai is classed as food, therefore our company cannot make health or therapeutic claims.

Anthocyanin pigments are responsible for the red, purple, and blue colours of many fruits, vegetables, cereal grains, and flowers.
